Prepare an email, not an automatic send
This generator creates a mailto: payload with one recipient address plus optional subject and message fields. A compatible scanner normally passes those details to an email app, which presents a draft for the person to review, edit, and send. Scanning by itself does not send an email.
Choose useful defaults
A clear subject can help route enquiries, while a short body can prompt for the information you need. Leave either optional field blank when a generic draft is more appropriate. The generator supports one ordinary email address; mailing lists, multiple recipients, attachments, and CC/BCC fields are not included.
Email codes are useful on feedback cards, event materials, support labels, and printed contact sheets. Avoid prewriting claims or consent on the sender’s behalf.
Test the draft on intended devices
Email apps and scanner integrations can interpret prepared drafts differently. Check that the address, subject, punctuation, and line breaks arrive correctly, and provide a readable email address nearby for people who prefer not to scan.
